Coconut Shelling Machine

CDML is a semiautomatic coconut shelling machine.

An operator places the coconut manually onto a belt with cups specifically designed for this fruit.

The belt then moves forward as the coconut is held in place by 2 grippers, rotated 360°, and a system of rotating blades makes an incision all around the fruit.

The coconut automatically returns to the front of the machine by means of a conveyor.

The same operator will position it for the second cycle.

A second crossed incision is performed on the fruits which are then carried out of the machine on another conveyor.

After the cutting process, the coconuts are placed on trays and go into an electric oven for a set time. At the end of this process the coconuts can be easily shelled manually by the operator using small tongs.
